Media Prima to show the best on TV next year

KUALA LUMPUR: Leading integrated media investment group Media Prima Bhd unveiled its line-up of international and local programmes for next year at its annual Television Networks Screening event last night.
Held at the KL Convention Centre, the event was attended by Media Prima Bhd group managing director Datuk Amrin Awaluddin, its former group managing director Abdul Rahman Ahmad and representatives from its stable of television networks: TV3, ntv7, 8TV and TV9.
“We want to be the home of the best content, regardless of type and genre, whether it’s the best of foreign or local in dramas, magazines, movies, documentaries, reality shows, news and current affairs, even animation,” said Media Prima Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Farid Ridzuan to over 1,500 advertisers, corporate clients, media and celebrities.
Farid took the stage to introduce the line-up of shows to be aired over TV3 and TV9, followed by 8TV chief executive officer Ahmad Izham Omar, who revealed the line-up of ntv7 and 8TV programmes.
Also present at the event were local stars and upcoming artistes from Hong Kong Kevin Cheng and Fala Chen, who flew in to promote their TV series which will be aired over ntv7 and 8TV.
Some of the highly-anticipated programmes to be screened include Grey’s Anatomy (Season Six), GLEE, Kami II, hit Korean drama Boys Over Flowers, Eastwick, The Vampire Diaries, the first ever badminton reality show Jaguh, the inspiring drama Gemilang and the sci-fi drama Butterfly S.
The audience were entertained by dance performances led by Puteri Gunung Ledang leading man, Stephen Rahman-Hughes.
The cast of Cuci the Musical, comprising AC Mizal, Awie, Afdlin Shauki and Hans Isaac, also joined in the celebration by performing an excerpt from their ongoing production.
Veteran singers Sheila Majid and Zainal Abidin concluded the evening by performing Orak Arek, Jauh and Warn, which the crowd sang along. |
