The Chinese Channel's Happy Family Gala <開心夏日嘉年華> took place at the end of last month, visiting London's Brent Cross shopping centre on 24 August and Glasgow's See Woo supermarket on 26 August. TVB artistes Fala Chen (陳法拉), Sunny Chan (陳錦鴻) and Michael Tse (謝天華) were special guests at the events, where they met some British fans and played some games with them.
The theme of the gala was centred around dance and dancing experts Michael and Fala gave a Rumba demonstration that captivated the audience. Sunny was joined by TVBuddy and had some fun as he performed his song. Fans gathered from the early morning to get a seat close to the stage and some lucky viewers were able to get close to the stars later on for photos and autographs.
At the London show, there was also a hip-hop performance by the finalists of this year's Miss China UK Pageant. Members of the public also performed some dance acts during the open dancing competition.
The second show was the first TVB event to have been held in Glasgow and despite the rainy weather, the eager fans were still attendance, brandishing their umbrellas.
The events aimed to promote the new Give Me Five package from The Chinese Channel that allows European viewers to enjoy the programming from TVB's Pay Vision service.
