This is a Chinese name; the family name is Chen. Fala Chen (traditional Chinese: 陳法拉; simplified Chinese: 陈法拉; pinyin: Chén Fǎlā, born 24 February 1982) is a beauty pageant queen hailing from Georgia, US. Fala has 4 major Chinese titles. She is Miss Asian America 2002, Miss Chinatown USA 2003 runner up (Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce), Miss NY Chinese 2004, and Miss Chinese International 2005 runner up.

Education

Fala was born in Chengdu, People's Republic of China in 1982. She came to the United States at the age of 15 in 1997. She attended Emory University in Georgia, USA where she majored in Marketing and International business, minored in Japanese. During her first year in college, she started entering beauty pageants. She graduated from Goizueta Business School of Emory University with a BA degree in May, 2005.

The Road to TVB

Representing Georgia, Fala entered the Miss Asian America 2002 pageant. At the young age of 20, she took the crown on August 2002. She performed a traditional peacock dance in a golden dress for her talent. Her dance was taught by her mother.

After taking the Miss Asian America crown, she entered the Miss Chinatown USA 2003 pageant. Traveling to San Francisco to compete, she took the Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce 2003 title (1st runner up). The winner was Miss Honolulu, Hawaii, Darah Dung.

After participating in 2 Chinese pageants, she participated in the Miss Chinese International pageant. That is when she participated in the Miss NY Chinese 2004 pageant. She was favored to win due to her smile, figure, beauty, and previous pageant titles. She joined the pageant on 13 August 2004, and took the crown and 3 awards(Best in Costume, Best in MTV, and Miss Photogenic.) After winning, she was able to represent New York at the 2005 Miss Chinese International pageant even though she was from Georgia. It was also in 2004 that the pageant accepts delegates around The United States.

In January, 2005, Fala traveled to Hong Kong to compete for the Miss Chinese International 2005 crown. From beginning to end, Fala was considered the one to beat according to many pageant sites and the Hong Kong Press. On 29 January 2005, she competed at TVB City for the crown. She took hold the title of First Runner Up for the city of New York. The eventual winner was Miss Leanne Li from Vancouver, though the majority of people would disagree with this preferring Fala to win.

Career

After a period in New York, she returned to Hong Kong and joined TVB. She starred in the TVB series Forensic Heroes, where she started as an accidental murderess.

She crowned the 2006 Miss Chinese International 1st runner up, Ginney Ann from Bangkok, Thailand.

For a time, Fala was unfavoured by audiences due to the dislike many people held towards the characters she played in series such as Steps, which gradually grew into a dislike for the actress herself. However, Fala has recently experienced success in her TVB career with appearances in series such as A Journey Called Life, Catch Me Now and the 2008 grand production Moonlight Resonance where she played a mute character to critical acclaim, earning her audiences' favour once again.

She attended Emory University in Georgia,USA where she majored in Marketing and International business, and minored in Japanese.By the way, Emory's business school ranked 20th in the United Stated. I also would like to attend this school, unfortunately, hah..I am a poor person, so I do not want to pay high tuition in Goizueta Business School of Emory University since it is a private school. I think that she is one of highest educated actors/actresses in the TVB. Hah....She is an outstanding student.During her first year in college, she started entering beauty pageants. She graduated from
Goizueta Business School of Emory University with a BBA degree in May, 2005.

Yeah. I heard Emory University's a pretty good university. I have checked the ranking before. Fala's sure to be a smart girl, especially when she can get into this university! Lol. &yep, she knows how to speak Jap, but I havent heard her speak Japanese before!
